Le Bloc Print - An ancestral Indian know-how

"India is not exactly a country, it is a continent. More complex and diverse than all of Europe, with a greater number of languages – seven hundred and eighty at the last census, not counting dialects – , regional and subregional identities, indigenous tribes and religions.” In the face of perils, Arundhati Roy

Each country is endowed with its own know-how and talent, a legacy of its history . Like leather is to Italy, shoes to Portugal, block print: it's India.
India is prints, thousands of colors, smells of burnt spices, cashmere, cotton and much more. As vast as the Indian territory is, each region is the ambassador of a unique know-how fueled by the cultural diversity of the country , a history that we wanted to inject into our new collection. And it is for this diversity, this palette of cultures, and above all the artisanal talent , that this season we have chosen to develop a new range of exceptional bags and kits in India .
To surprise you, please you and satisfy you, we took the time to choose the best workshop , to find the best know-how. And it takes delicacy to create such beautiful things. To find this finesse, we very wisely chose the right country: direction India.
For these new creations we are taking you to the North of the country, towards Rajasthan where the ancestral know-how of block printing has been perpetuated for years in complete serenity. To do this, each drawing is first drawn on a sheet then reproduced and carved in a block of wood. Then dipped in ink, this wooden stamp is applied forcefully to a large, previously stretched fabric. After several washes and drying in the sun, the fabrics take on pretty colors. Patience and creation are the key words of this meticulous and delicate work.
At Mister k, you already know, we prioritize ethics. We selected a respectful and committed workshop, who shares our values and a certain taste for the preservation of local cultural heritage and ancestral know-how. You will have understood, in your hands, it will not simply be a shopping bag or an exceptional pencil case, it will be the union between our taste for beauty and Indian know-how.
So, with our desire for good things as our compass, we invite you to discover our new creations and to discover Indian creation techniques.
