ITW n°108: Eddy - K fighter (breast)

Hello, today, Eddy, 49 years old, gives us his testimony on a breast K fought in 2014 (yes yes men can also be affected); without taboo we discover a sincere man, who does not mince his words when talking about this reality. The men have the floor at Mister K, thank you for your trust, your testimonies are so precious, a big congratulations to Eddy, a very nice discovery once again, which shows us how solidarity will have been an essential pillar in his fight which can isolate thanks to the link he made on My breast cancer network , which helped him a lot. Together Stronger like I always say Great discovery Let's get started: Who are you ? First name: Eddy Age: 49 years old Profession: Parking lot operations agent Where do you live: Tourcoing 59 Why do you agree to share your story today? Because we don't talk enough about K of the breast in men and therefore prevention takes a hit in men What are your qualities (in a few words)? frank direct helpful very sociable (not to be confused with flirtatious, that's not me) What are your passions (in a few words)? Cycling, computers, console or online games What K (what cancer - grade if you wish / stage ditto): K breast grade 3 When was it discovered? How old were you ? in July 2014 I was 46 years old Under what circumstances was it discovered? I had what looked like eczema or psoriasis on the areola of the left breast after a long time where no treatment did anything my doctor sent me to a dermatologist for a surface biopsy and there the ax fell disease Paget's nipple Can you summarize your (K fighter) story for us ? It's difficult not in terms of treatment but in terms of morale, I faced this K alone, I am single without children so what had to happen happened I fell in love with a doctor followed by a great depression, fortunately I was followed by a psychologist What treatment did you have? chemo: 3 Fec100 plus 3 Taxoter and one year of herceptin 1/3 weeks radiotherapy: 25 10-minute sessions of good humor operation : Mastectomy for 4 days hospitalization What tips directly related to K do you want to share? (your feeling with the doctor, your good treatment organization plans, anything that seems useful to you ;))? 1/ chemo: (ex: your tips, the helmet, your affinities with nurses): above all apply their advice to the letter they know what they are talking about How did you live the day before, the same day, the days after chemo? and what were your tips? I used a thyme infusion with cinnamon and other plants to boost my immune defenses 2/ hospital: (e.g. contact with nurses / doc / caregivers): Nothing to complain about, they were all great, almost, apart from the treatments I missed it after not going there anymore 3/ “parallel” medicine : Plants only What did you do to clear your mind/clear your head (before chemo, surgery & co)? A colleague and very good friend regularly came to pick me up to go for a walk. What practical “well-being/beauty” tips can you advise us? 1/ beauty: your essential products (e.g.: creams, varnishes, scars, oils, etc.) Bi oil for scars La Roche Posay varnish for nails 2/ daily (e.g. sport, food & co, meditation, reading, etc.) nothing special 4/ hair problem (eg: did you wear a wig, scarves, hats) A hat is cold without hair Were you concerned about the views of others, were you afraid that their views would change? What did you do to counter it? unimportant to me What are the “nugget”/footed phrases (that you remember) that someone said to you during K and that you could have avoided? It doesn't matter, he's a man How did your loved ones support you? joker And what advice could you give to loved ones who accompany a K fighter? Being there for the person is already a lot Do you find out about K on the internet? Only on a dedicated forum If so, does it make you feel good? Yes because there is a great solidarity between the patient and me who was therefore adopted If so, what would be the useful (internet) links that helped you during K? My Breast Cancer network. What has the K changed in your life...? surround yourself with the right people who you can count on and who can count on you Free field ;) tell us what you want (which might not be in my questions): I think I've said everything, thank you for paying attention to my testimony, it's important to be able to communicate on this
