  • (Cosmetic Executive Women) finances wellness care in 25 hospitals in France, offered to cancer patients during their chemotherapy in hospital. These beauty centers try to provide a bubble of comfort, attention, tenderness, in order to help patients regain a little well-being, regain self-esteem and find the path to recovery more easily.

A great show of solidarity that does good, Together Stronger!

Well done everyone and a great discovery.

Let's get started

Who are you ?

First name: Sylvie Triballier

Age: 56 years old

Profession: Cancerology Coordinator at the Grasse Hospital Center

You decided to create “a Rose, a Caress” how did this beautiful idea come about?

Une rose une caress, a solidarity and voluntary action, was born thanks to the initiative of women business leaders from the Club des Entrepreneurs du pays de Grasse.

There has been a CEW branch at the Grasse Hospital Center since 2008. The CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women) finances wellness care in 25 hospitals in France, offered to cancer patients during their chemotherapy at the hospital. These beauty centers try to provide a bubble of comfort, attention, tenderness, in order to help patients regain a little well-being, regain self-esteem and find the path to recovery more easily.

Our idea to support this local action emerged in 2013.

We then decided to set up a workshop which would organize a fundraiser intended for the Beauty Center of the CEW of the Grasse Hospital Center.

Grasse… World capital of perfumery, its exceptional flower crops… Une Rose Une Caresse was born!

We then had to, little by little, find sponsors, donors and volunteers to achieve our goals, the highlight being our annual Rose Harvest Day in May, in the Gardens of the International Perfume Museum.

Are you alone in your project?

Oh no ! The Une Rose Une Caresse Workshop is, in essence, a workshop bringing together Volunteers who act around the organization of this Benefit Day.

The strength of this action is that it is collective! We each use our talents, our specific know-how, our will and our involvement to implement this solidarity action.

If there are several of you, how have you distributed the tasks?

we created several teams: communication and press, sponsors, animation of the Day and distribution of posters. This year, we even created a steering group! Everyone invests according to their skills, their desires and the time available. It’s a delicate alchemy to put together!

You yourself not having fought K, how did you find the idea and the generosity of supporting the fighters?

I am a nurse by training and I was the health manager of the Gynecology Department of the CH de Grasse for more than 20 years. Dr Pierre AZUAR created this service and quickly took care of women suffering from breast cancer and gynecological cancers.

We have always worked collaboratively, complementarily, following the directives of successive cancer plans, and even more so since 2012, when I became Cancer Coordinator for the establishment.

Nearly 300 women are diagnosed and operated on for breast cancer by our surgical team; supporting these women, offering them well-being and comfort care, is a priority for the establishment.

It is for this reason that I am proud to participate as a volunteer in the Une Rose Une Caresse Workshop to provide more care, year after year, to our patients.

Can you tell us more about your project:

The Atelier Une Rose Une Caresse project is based on the organization each year of a Benefit Day open to the public and sponsored by our partners. The initial project has grown and we now have to find the means to sustain our action since today we finance 2 socio-estheticians and a reflexologist 5 and a half days a week and this all year round!

We are all convinced that developing supportive care to facilitate the journey of these women weakened by the disease, by treatments and by the side effects of treatments is a priority.

Our proposal is now multidisciplinary, with socio-beauticians and reflexologists for the CEW association, but also hypnosis, aromatherapy, physical activities...

Why was this idea born, from what observation:

A meeting between Sophie Le Norcy PACA Manager of CEW France, the Entrepreneurs Club and myself in 2007...A start of the CEW Beauty Center at the Grasse Hospital Center in June 2008...this desire to mobilize women business leaders and of managers who initiated the workshop and the “A Rose, a Caress” day…

From what observation?… this is what I described in the previous questions and which the CEW sums up perfectly with this quote “Beauty is not futile, it helps to better fight illness”.

And confirmation that this idea is beautiful... In 2015, the CEW Beauty Center at the CH de Grasse was designated as a pilot for France and this is why reflexology made its entry into the comfort care offered to patients.

Can you give us some feelings during your performances, do you see a change in the fighters?

Well-being, letting go, relaxation, calming, escape are very frequent comments noted by patients who benefit from this type of care.

Emotions are intense during these long and difficult care journeys; we share tears, of course, but when we receive a smile, it brightens our day as a caregiver.

It is our greatest reward, and this care contributes greatly to it.

We very often collect poignant testimonies. Some are mentioned on our site J

Where can we find you?

The UNE ROSE UNE CARESSE 2017 benefit day will take place on Sunday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the Garden of the Perfume Museum, in Mouans Sartoux, very close to Grasse, in the Alpes Maritimes. Numerous creative workshops, well-being, activities for children with ponies, painting, makeup, origami... Collective painting on fabric, cooking workshops, aromatherapy, rose picking... With a refreshment bar at visitor service all day.

Our website Une Rose Une Caresse has all the details.

There you will also find the program for this year's day and ESPECIALLY (J) the donation form for individuals who wish to support this action and cannot go to the MIP gardens on May 14!

What are your ideas for the future?

This workshop and this Une Rose Une Caresse Day represent an enormous amount of research and personal investment from each of us.

We are in the fifth year and we want more and more sponsors and donors to get involved every year!

We must continue everyone's commitment, because without them, this care could not continue for our patients.
